Orlando is a world famous tourist destination, home to magical theme parks, exciting attractions, amazing wildlife and the second largest number of hotel rooms in America, second only to Las Vegas. As well as numerous family friendly and budget hotels, a new breed of luxury hotels has grown up in recent years, catering to those who wish to enjoy the area’s charms from a stylish and refined base. As well as tourism, Orlando is also a busy convention and conference destination, with the Orange County Convention Center being a jewel in its business travel crown.
Think Orlando and most people think Walt Disney, with good reason. The city’s principal attraction must be the Walt Disney World Resort, encompassing Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and Blizzard Beach. Universal Orlando Resort is also at the heart of the action, with its two theme parks and three hotels. SeaWorld Orlando and the Wet’n’Wild Water Park complete the Big Four Orlando attractions, but, for the theme park weary, there is more to Orlando than rides and slides.
